Overview
QuickSwitch® 6259 16-Channel ST Simplex Fiber Optic Switch Provides Simultaneous Channel Switching via Pushbutton Local Control with Automatic Disconnect to OFFLINE Position
The QuickSwitch® 6259 16-Channel ST Simplex A/B Switch, with local control only allows a device connected to a COMMON port access to the A and B port for each of the 16 channels. One front panel pushbutton allows simultaneous control of the switch to/from A or B positions for all twelve channels at the same time. Upon loss of power the switch disconnects to the OFFLINE position and no data is passed. The front panel LED display indicates all of the switch positions and unit power status. The switch can ONLY be controlled manually via the front panel pushbutton. There is no remote control.
-
Failsafe Design: If power is lost, the unit automatically disconnects to prevent unintended network connections — critical for secure systems
-
Simultaneous Switching: All 16 channels toggle together with one action — no need to switch channels one by one.
-
Ideal for controlled environments where manual switching is preferred
FEATURES OF THE MODEL 6259 ST SIMPLEX A/B FIBER SWITCH WITH OFFLINE POSITION:
- All switch control is from the front-panel. No remote control!
- Front panel LED's for display of current position of all channels as well as the power status.
- All 16 channels switch simultaneously.
- MEMS-based mirror/prism switch technology supports Gigabit data rates.
- Bit-rate and data transparent.
- Optical data throughput scalability.
- All fiber ports are ST simplex, multimode, 62.5/125 micron and support a wavelength of 850 nm.
- When power is lost, unit goes off-line and does not pass data.
- When power is restored, unit will retain last position.
