Shipping Terms

Shipments are made via UPS Ground, unless otherwise specified. Freight charges are prepaid and added to your invoice. We can estimate the freight costs for you.

We can ship freight collect on your account, just provide your UPS Account Number.

We can also ship via the carrier of your choice. Provide the details and your account number.

Products shall be shipped F.O.B. Electro Standards' facility. Title to and risk of loss or damage to the products shall pass to you upon Electro Standards delivery of the products to a carrier for shipment. Title to software will remain with the applicable licensor. Electro Standards' prices do not include shipping and handling charges. Electro Standards reserves the right to use its own discretion in the manner and routing of shipments. Electro Standards shall be permitted to deliver products in separate lots.

Shipping Return Policy

  • To return an item, contact Electro Standards at 401-943-1164 to obtain a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number. RMA numbers are valid for 30 days after the date of the shipment and cannot be extended or re-issued. We are unable to accept returns without an RMA number.
  • All returns except those of defective product are subject to a 15% restocking fee, and additional charges for handling or freight are refunded only in cases of defective products.
  • Return freight must be shipped prepaid. We recommend that you insure the package as you are responsible for risk of loss on all returned packages. We recommend that all cartons are properly packed as Electro Standards is not responsible for product damaged en route. We do not issue call tags for product returns.
  • Returned product must be clean, undamaged, and complete with all manuals, accessories, documents and packaging. The items must be in a resalable condition.
  • The product must have with it a copy of the original invoice or packing slip and the appropriate RMA paperwork.
  • If your item is not working properly, please contact Electro Standards at 401-943-1164 for help in trouble-shooting your application.
  • If the product is defective, Electro Standards will repair or replace that item (at our discretion) upon receipt and evaluation of the original product.
  • Electro Standards reserves the right to authorize product returns after 30 days from the invoice date in some cases. If the product is accepted after 30 days, credit will be issued toward future pruchases only and some additional restocking charges may be applied.
  • All credits from RMAs must be used within one calendar year of issue.

Overview

Electro Standards Laboratories Model 8084 RJ45 Cat5e Switch is a single-channel, manual A/B rotary network switch with long (20 inch) cabled RJ45 connectors designed for installation into custom enclosures. It lets one device connected to the COMMON port be switched to either of two Cat5e network connections (A or B) via a break-before-make rotary selector that switches all 8 RJ45 pins without requiring power, offering reliable, transparent connectivity for Cat5e interfaces.

FEATURES OF THE MODEL 8084 SINGLE CHANNEL A/B ROTARY SWITCH:

  • The switch ports are transparent to all data.
  • All (8) pins of the RJ45 interface are switched via break-before-make rotary switch.
  • No power required for operation.

MODEL 8084 CAT5E A/B SWITCH OPERATION:

  • The LineSelect® Model 8084 Single Channel RJ45 Cat5e A/B Rotary Switch allows the user the capability of accessing two separate devices, ports A and B, via connection through a device connected to the Common port.
  • The LineSelect® Model 8084 is provided as a rotary switch with cabled RJ45’s for installation into any custom enclosure. No power is required for operation.

COMPONENTS PROVIDED:

  • Rotary Switch with A/B/COM RJ45’s – The switch has the RJ45’s soldered and labeled appropriately.
  • The washer and nut for installing the switch is provided on the switch.
  • Knob – To be installed on the rotary switch shaft to facilitate turning the switch. (P/N 502241).
  • Icons – Blue/Black/Red icons (1 of each) provided that show a “Computer” image on one side and a “Telephone” image on the other. These are used to secure the RJ45’s once installed in an enclosure.
  • Allen Wrench – The 1/16” Allen wrench provided for installing the knob. (P/N 507460).

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:

  • PORT CONNECTORS: (3) RJ45 female connectors labeled A, B, and COMMON.
  • TWO SWITCH POSITIONS: (1) Rotary switch selects COM to A, or COM to B.
  • PINS SWITCHED: All 8 pins are switched via break-before-make rotary switch.
  • POWER:  No power required. Manually operated.
  • WEIGHT: Approximately, 0.3 lb. (0.2 kg)
  • LEG LENGTHS: 20” (50.8 cm)

LineSelect® Model 8084 Cat5e A/B Switch Function Diagram:

The LineSelect® Model 8084 Function Diagram shows three Female RJ45 port connectors, (RJ45 A, RJ45 B, RJ45 COMMON). A device connected to the COMMON port connector can access one of two devices connected to the RJ45 A and RJ45 B port connectors.
