Model 7410 16-Channel Individual Control RJ45 RS232 A/B Switch, with Dual Remote Ports and Dual Power Supplies
Overview
The PathWay® Model 7410 16-Channel RJ45 RS232 A/B Switch with Dual Remote Ports and Dual Power Supplies allows the user the capability of sharing a single port RJ45 interface device, connected to the "COMMON" port, among two other devices, connected to the A and B ports, with individual control of each channel. The Model 7410 is enclosed in a 2U, full rack size, all metal black chassis designed to provide EMI/RFI shielding and fit in a standard 19" rack.
The unit can be operated by either the front panel pushbuttons or via the dual remote ports. The Model 7410 also supports cascade operation, where other supported units can be connected and operated through a single remote port interface. The state of the unit can be obtained from the front panel LED's or through the Dual Remote Ports.

FEATURES OF THE MODEL 7410 RS232 A/B SWITCH:

- Cascade operation allows control of switch position and lockout of individual channels as well as obtaining the status of other units connected to the Cascade Ports through the Remote RJ45 female port of a single unit.
- Front panel LED's display present position, lockout, and power status.
- EIA/TIA-561 RS-232 compliance.
- Dual Power Supplies protect unit in case of power failure, provides backup power supply to keep the unit running.

RS232 A/B SWITCH APPLICATION RS232 SERIAL REMOTE CONTROL:
The drawing illustrates up to 16 COMMON lines connected to the 16 COMMON ports being shared between two sources, A and B lines. The dual RS232 Serial Remote Ports allow for remote access to ASCII commands via either of 2 Supervisory Remote Stations.
