Electro Standards, A Rhode Island Success Story

Raymond B. Sepe, Sr., founded Electro Standards Laboratories in 1976. The company’s first product was a Data Interface Analyzer, typically know as a breakout box. Since then the company has evolved with the times.

Mr. Sepe tapped into his experiences at Bell Telephone Laboratories, Raytheon, and Advanced Digital Systems and advanced the company through continual innovation. Today Electro Standards manufactures breakout boxes, state-of-the-art copper and fiber optic data network switches and cable assemblies, smart load cell indicators, and CellMite® Intelligent Digital Signal Conditioners.

Electro Standards’ R&D Contract Engineering Services Group is pushing technology forward with innovative solutions in advanced electric motor control algorithms, sensorless control of AC motors, power electronics systems, digital signal processor based boards for custom solutions, computer simulation for dynamic control and estimation systems, Web-based real-time monitoring and control with GPS, and embedded and precision instrumentation for sensors and control. Electro Standards is designing Linear Motor Control Systems to launch aircraft from next generation carriers. Electro Standards is also developing technology to harvest energy utilizing a small buoy free floating on the ocean surface.

Electro Standards’ Network Services Group provides network solutions for commercial, residential and retail solutions. Electro Standards’ Network Services designs and installs sophisticated data, telephone and fiber optic systems in the northeastern United States, as well as national and international satellite locations via their certified installer network. A specialty of Electro Standards’ Network Services is its multi-site rollouts of POS wiring and terminal installation, security wiring, software upgrades and router installation. Installation expertise includes wireless, microwave, satellite, aerial, underground, copper, fiber optic, CATV, and security wiring. Electro Standards Network Services holds many manufacturer certifications including, but not limited to: AMP-NDI, Molex, Leviton CCS, Hubbell, Krone, Siemon, Alcatel, 3M Optical Certification, Fluke Silver Partner, Cisco Certified Reseller and Adtran Premier Partner.

Electro Standards has been selected by RIEDC, Rhode Island Economic Development, as a Rhode Island Success Story.
