  Control Systems R&D - Development of multilevel inverter controllers for high voltage, high current, drive applications. The inverter controllers feature fully digital control of centered pulse width modulated voltages to minimize harmonic content in the generated waveforms. A variety of vector rotation algorithms have been developed to distribute the load on the DC bus capacitors and thereby minimize voltage level imbalance. The system also incorporates independent brake resistor control for each voltage level, fault protection, and a hierarchy of over current protection algorithms.
