|
| |
Electro Standards Laboratories (ESL), a turnkey engineering services provider, is a pioneer in the development of advanced electric motor control systems and a provider of innovative research and developmental services to its clients. The company announces that it has been awarded a Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) award from Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command to harvest energy from ocean wave motion. |

Electro Standards Laboratories will use the funding from the Phase I SBIR to devise a means of energy harvesting for a small diameter buoy free floating on the ocean surface. The buoy will also contain electronics for remote communications and sensing. The design will ensure that the buoy produce enough energy to power active electronics to meet operational needs at an instance. Energy storage can include the use of a rechargeable battery. For more details review a report entitled Ocean Wave Energy Harvesting Buoy for Sensors by Steven P. Bastien and Raymond B. Sepe, Jr. of Electro Standards Laboratories and Annette R. Grilli, Stephan T. Grilli and Malcolm L. Spaulding of the University of Rhode Island. ESL's Engineering Services Group can work for you! |
