M7236 8-Channel RS232 A/B Switch with Remote Access

Electro Standards Laboratories (ESL), Cranston, RI, announces its new Network Switch, Model 7236 Eight-Channel RS232 A/B Switch with Remote Access. Model 7236 switches all eight channels of each port simultaneously and is transparent to data. An LED display confirms switch position and power status. Switch position and signal pathway integrity are maintained during power loss, insuring no interruption of data transmission. This switch is also available as a 16-channel unit (Model 7238).

Model 7236 can be controlled manually via a front-panel push button, or remotely via the DB9 Remote Port located on the rear panel. The Remote Port supports both an RS232 ASCII command set control and contact open/close control. The RS232 ASCII command set includes change switch position, query switch position, and lockout front panel pushbutton control.

An optional RJ45 10-Base-T Ethernet Remote Control Port allows ethernet access from a standard web browser by entering the IP address of the switch. Access is permitted only after password authentication, and user privileges are configurable by supervisor status user. Graphical representation allows simple point and click control.
