New M6272 Fiber Optic ST Duplex A/B Switch Features Remote Serial Control & Gigabyte Speed

Electro Standards Laboratories (ESL), Cranston, RI, has just announced its new QuickSwitch® Model 6272 Fiber Optic ST Duplex A/B Switch with Remote Serial Control. The Model 6272 allows access to either of two ST Duplex Fiber Optic networks from one computer connected to an ST Duplex Common port. This switch features a MEMS-based (Micro Electro Mechanical System) multimode mirror switch.

This versatile switch can be controlled manually or remotely. The switching time is less than 1 msec. The switched Fiber Optic ST Duplex ports are transparent to data and speed. The Model 6272 supports a Fiber Optic wavelength of 1300 nm and Gigabyte Data Rate.
