Model 4410 Remote Control A/B Switch monitors for trigger character

June 3, 2008

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Electro Standards Laboratories (ESL), Cranston, RI, has just announced its new Model 4410 Remotely Controllable Network Switch. The Model 4410 can be controlled manually via a front-panel pushbutton or from a remote location. To switch remotely, the COMMON port RS-232 device is monitored for a specific ASCII character sequence. If received, the unit will switch to the prescribed port, either A or B. In either mode of operation, the front panel LED indicators display the switch position.

This  RS232 A/B switch is ideal for fallback applications. Data, handshake, and clock lines of the RS-232 interface are supported. Front panel LEDs display connectivity, status and power connection at all times. The rugged aluminum case provides EMI/RFI shielding. Switching uses latch relays which maintain connection during power loss. The monitored COMMON port allows for remote control of switch status.  For details, click here:  http://www.electrostandards.com/ProductDetail/?productid=210
